Perhaps the reason that the Liberals are taking the low road on the domestic spying issue is that their hero, Bubba Bill Clinton and his witchy wife and former first felon turned New York Senator Hillary Clinton were eavesdropping in on Christian groups and other groups friendly to the Republican party.
Leftist politicians, by criticizing President George W. Bush’s wiretapping of overseas telephone calls with al-Qaeda suspects, have left the impression that Democrats are too fastidious to ever use such methods to eavesdrop on terrorists. This impression is wrong. We should give Democratic leaders their due. President Bill Clinton used questionable government surveillance in ways more sweeping than any Republican president would even consider doing.

Your purported facts are misleading about Clinton and the use of wiretapping. You need to do a bit more study on what Clinton actually did. A cursory use of a search engine should suffice.
